To Dream a Dream of Shiri part 1 by Shiri
Written by agnar on April 15th, 2009He sat alone in his shack on the graveyard shift. This had to be most unrewarding job of a lifetime watching out the windows mesmerized by the darkness of night. The parking lot was abandoned except for his car that sat off in the distance.
Waiting for the safe time that he could drop off to sleep for a few hours, he thought about going back to school. After all he had a perfect eight hours of nothing to do but study.
Being disrupted by flashing blue and red lights at the gate on the other side of the lot, Matt sat down the pot of old coffee and got out of the shack and began to walk to the other side of the lot.
“Can I help you,” Matt said to the police officer.
The officer held up his hand and motioned for him to wait a moment as he answered a call on the radio.
Matt waited and watched the officer who looked terribly puzzled by his situation.
The officer got out of his car and said, “I’m looking for a girl.”
“Me to,” Matt joked and watching the officer give no expression of amusement.
“She has dark hair and dark pants maybe a dark shirt or thin jacket. Did she run through your lot?”
“I saw a black cat earlier and that’s about it, “Matt replied.
The officer hung is head down and then looking up at Matt he said, “Well if you see her give us a buzz please.”
“No problem,” Matt said. “It would the most excitement I have had all night.”
The officer pointed to the shack across the lot and asked, “How do you stand it in that shack all night? Your job has got to suck.”
“You tell me my job sucks and look at the stress your under,” Matt said.
“You got me there,” the officer said. “Well don’t fall asleep in there, got to go.”
Matt smiled and said, “Me fall asleep, never.”
The officer shook his head in a sarcastic manor and dropped back down into his police car and drove off.
Matt began walking back to his shack. He thought to himself that the job would only be temporary until his website business picked up. For now it was him and this lot and nothing more so he should make the best of it.
Slowly placing his hand on the door knob of the shack he heard a sudden bump against the wall of the inside of the shack. Thinking quickly he pulled his pepper spray from his holster and slowly turned the door knob. He hesitated for a moment then he flung the door wide open and pointed the spray inside and saw nothing.
Feeling that his mind was playing tricks on him and no doubt this was caused by the officers threat of falling asleep with someone on the loose, Matt began to lower the spray.
Before he could even get the spay to waist level the chair creaked and Matt pointed the spray at the sudden hand that quickly stuck out guarding her face from being shot.
“Don’t please,” A voice pleaded from under the desk.
Matt grabbed the chair and threw it to the side and there she was.
“Let me guess, you’re the one the police are looking for,” Matt said.
“Please don’t spray me.”
“Are you armed?”
“No”
Matt flipped the light on and there she was holding a black cat under the desk.
She was wearing black pants full of sandy dust and her pants leg was split all the way up her thigh. She held tight to the cat with her knees bent up to her chin and her cat snuggled close to her chest. She had an innocent frightened look in her face and Matt wonder what a little thing like this could have done that would warrant the need for police helicopters to buzzing by every in the distance.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Shiri,” she said.
“What did you do Shiri?”
“I killed my husband,” She replied.
Matt watched in wonderment how this innocent looking young lady could ever do something like that.
Shiri moved her leg slightly and a terrible pain in her upper thigh prompted her to stop.
Matt noticed this and said, “How did you do that to your pants?”
“I got caught up on the barbed wire while jumping the fence. I landed on this poor cat. I didn’t mean to. He’s ok but I’m cut.” She explained. “My husband was trying to kill me because I confronted him about the girl friend he thought I didn’t know about.”
“Why didn’t call the police?”
“Because he is the police or was. He said he could kill me and make it look accidental,” She said. “Are you going to call the police?”
“I have a first aid kit in that drawer. Let’s patch up your leg and then I have to call the police. They find you sooner or later. I will testify to what you said, if that makes any difference,” Matt answered.
Shiri looked down at the cat in her arms and then back up to Matt and said,” I guess your right. I just got scared. He wrote a letter to his girlfriend saying he was going to kill me. It’s in my car and when the police see that everything will be fine. He just had so brainwashed that he could do anything to me.”
She began to maneuver her way out from under the desk and opened her letting cat make a run for it.
Matt took out the first aid from the drawer in the wall of the shack and sat it in the chair, when he noticed Shiri setting down a small black purse on the desk.
“What is in there?” Matt asked.
Shiri opened the purse and dumped it out on the desk as she replied, “I understand you don’t trust me and I don’t blame you. Who can you trust nowadays?”
Matt took a look at the contents on the desk, making a quick inventory of anything that might be dangerous, a pack of cigarettes, lighter, make-up, compact, small thin checkbook, small silver pocket watch, and loose change where all to be found.
“I just wanted to be sure,” Matt said.
“No really it’s no problem,” she said. “What’s your name?”
“Matt,” he replied. “Go ahead and sit on the desk and let’s see what you did.”
Shiri sat on the desk and then rested her naked leg on the chair.
“This stuff is for scrapes and cuts, so it probably will hurt,” Matt said looking at the spray can. “Your cut doesn’t look that bad, I don’t think you will need stitches.”
Matt shook the can and sprayed it on the cut.
“MMMmmm ouuuch! Your right it stings,” Shiri complained.
“A um, let’s see, a three inch bandage should cover it up,” Matt said.
“You’re the doc,” Shiri said.
Matt placed the bandage on Shiri’s cut and as he began to step around his foot got caught on the leg of the chair, tripping him forward towards Shiri. He immediately moved his hand up and it fell on Shiri’s chest.
Matt pulled his hand away and said, “Oh god I’m sorry.”
“It’s ok; you’re not the first…”
“Excuse me?”
“Well, I mean, the first guy to put his hand there,” She said bowing her head in embarrassment.
“Umm, of course I’m not or…,”
“What?” Shiri jokingly scolded..
“I mean…, Hi my name is Matt.”
Shiri laughed out, “Glad to meet you, Matt”
“There’s your bandage,” Matt said.
Shiri’s eyes slowly rolled up with a helpless seductive stare and she said, “Thank you.”
Matt was astonished by how Shiri made him feel, so relaxed and serene. He almost forgot what he was supposed to do next.
“I guess I should call the police,” Matt said.
“Could we wait for about fifteen minutes so I can catch my barring?” She asked.
“I… I guess it wouldn’t hurt,” Matt said.
Matt leaned against the wall and Shiri said, “I guess the first thing people do is to get a lawyer right?”
“I would think so,” Matt said looking at Shiri’s leg.
Shiri snapped her fingers and said, “Hey I’m here.”
“Sorry I didn’t…”
“You looked like you where hypnotized by my leg or something.”
“I was looking at the bandage. I never had done that before.”
Shiri nodded and said, “Oh I see, well it feels better so you must have done something right.”
“Plus the leg is sexy you know I felt throw that in there,” Matt joked.
Laughter
The two of them calmed down and Shiri said, “So this is what you do. You work as a security person?”
“I have a web site,” Matt said.
“Oh really, not that sounds cool. What do you sell?” She asked.
“I sell subscriptions to the site,” Matt replied.
“Oh… One of those triple X things.”
“Oh no, no, nothing like that. In fact I am thinking of changing the theme of the site. I just don’t know what to concentrate on,” Matt said.
“Maybe I will give you some ideas,” Shiri said.
Just then a spot light from a helicopter shined down in the lot and panned around and turned off.
“You think they stopped looking?” Shiri asked.
“I don’t know,” Matt replied.
“Maybe they found the letter,” Shiri said as she pulled out a pendent from around her neck and began to massage it with her fingers.
“What’s that?” Matt asked.
“It’s just like…,” Shiri said as she just held it up with no explanation.
Matt looked deep into the pendant, it was a pentagram with a large diamond in the center.
“Witchcraft, right?” Matt asked.
Shiri put it back in her black satin blouse and said, “I have it for good luck. More like a security blanket.”
Shiri and Matt talked for sometime. Shiri explained to him how she had fallen out of love with her husband almost a year ago when the abuse started and when she suspected him of cheating.
“You know, I would have to wonder Matt if you get sleepy working the long tiresome nights in the dark like this,” Shiri said.
“I sleep alright. Nothing ever happens out here, except for tonight and to think the cop told me not to fall asleep,” Matt replied.
“He said that?”
“He sure did.”
“Well I didn’t even give you a chance to sleep.”
“No, this one for the history books about this place.”
Laughter
Shiri got a serious look on her face and said as she slowly reached over to Matt’s cheek and caressed it with the back of her hand, “You’re a good man Matt. I wished I would have met you before my husband.”
The two of them stared deeply into each others eyes as they began to fall.
Matt broke away first and said, “Well I believe what you told me and I think it will all blow over.”
“I hope your right,” She said. “I feel nervous, do you mind if I smoke?”
“Go ahead, I think you earned it,” Matt replied.
Shiri reached over to her box and picked up her lighter. Matt watched as Shiri lit up a long white cigarette. Shiri tilted her head back and blow out the smoke slowly towards the ceiling, her lip-stick sparkled magick as the smoke escaped from her full kiss shaped lips.
Matt caught himself dazed and seduced by this and thinking quick he said, “Oh damn, what time is it? I didn’t realize we where talking so long.”
Shiri picked up the end of the chain to her small silver pocket watch as she held the cigarette at her face height. She proceeded to lift the watch and dangled the time piece just below her eyes so Matt could see them.
“You a good man Matt and it’s almost time,” She said as she blew a puff of smoke in Matt’s eyes.
Matt felt a strange heaviness all through his body, unlike anything he had ever felt before.
He heard a whisper that sounded like it came from his own mind. The whisper said, “Don’t fall asleep Matt, your a good man.”
The last thing Matt was able to hold onto was Shiri’s sad teary eyes that gave her away. They said something to the effect of, “I am sorry I have to do this to you but I have no other choice.”
Shiri began to swing the watch back and fourth in front of Matt’s eyes, it felt like the world was swinging back and fourth in his mind. He just couldn’t understand how such a little watch could be so devastating. Matt could see Shiri’s lips moving and could almost make out some of the words, but it was too late, Matt was hypnotized.
Shiri sat down the watch and jumped off the desk. She pulled her pants and panties down and off. Shiri jumped back up on the desk and slowly blew the thick hypnotic smoke into Matt’s face and mind. Matt knew what to do with out thinking. His pants where already off and he hadn’t a clue how that had happened but he didn’t care as they fell together in hot hypnotic lust.
Shiri’s legs wrapped around Matt’s chest as she got closer, Matt felt the himself being constricted tighter and tighter, but he didn’t care as he got closer and closer.
Shiri stopped her antics and looked deeply into Matt’s eyes while Matt was at his peak.
Blowing a soft slow puff of smoke into Matt’s numb face she said, “Don’t fall asleeeeeeeep.”
Colors and flashes passed in front of Matt’s eyes and as he exploded he felt this was the end of his life and didn’t care as it felt too good.
Matt’s eyes opened as he heard sirens outside the fence line. Looking around and astonished about his dream he quickly came to his senses and sprang out of his shack and looked a crossed the lot and into the street. He saw a woman in handcuffs and a cop with walking with a butcher knife towards one of the cars. The woman was defiantly not Shiri.
Sitting back down in his shack he thought about her again and again. All night long he couldn’t get Shiri out of his mind. He kept telling himself that it was just a dream.
The next morning he opened the gate and locked the shack as employees came onto the lot. He sat down in his car and saw a note on the windshield. Maybe one of the Employees put it there.
Matt reached out his window and grabbed the note. Pulling it inside he began to read.
Dear Matt,
It did happen, so let me explain. You where hypnotized by me. I was the other woman and not the wife. He told me that he wasn’t married. He broke my heart and I just got sick and tired of men doing that. I am a professional hypnotist and I decided to use my skill just this once for revenge. Please don’t think bad of me, I had to do it. I confronted his wife and she started calling me names and so on so I hypnotized her to kill her husband. They both paid for what they done to me. You need to know something. I really like you and will see you again. If you tell someone of this in anyway you will breathe out and never be able to breathe in again. I had no choice. I finally found a good man. Destroy this letter and I will see you tonight.
With love,
Shiri
